Description of QALICB
The Center for Transforming Lives (CTFL) is a non-profit providing wrap around services for at risk women and their children. CTFL’s successful programs provide a two-generation, trauma-informed approach to meet the needs of women and children in poverty. They provide comprehensive housing services, early childhood education, economic mobility, and clinical counseling services.
Community Benefits
The new Early Childhood Education and Economic Mobility Center will allow CFTL to increase services to single mothers and their children, as well as the accessibility for those services. The new facility (Riverside Campus) will be in an area with better public transit availability and closer to neighborhoods where many of the programs’ clients live. The new center will offer childcare for 120 children, a 57% increase in services, economic mobility services to 1,200 women annually and relocate the 119 full time jobs from their current location, as well as add an estimated 52 new full-time jobs. The new campus will have the capacity to provide clients and the surrounding community with a suite of behavioral health services that are currently unavailable in Tarrant County. Relocating the CTFL to this campus allows for room for growth for the program in the future and will repurpose an abandoned facility to spur more investment in the surrounding area.
