Big Brothers Big Sisters provides children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported, one-to-one mentoring relationships that change their lives for the better.
Community Benefits
Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star (BBBS) new headquarters and program delivery space near downtown Houston will meet the growing demand for their mentoring programs and reach the more than 800 at-risk children waiting to be matched with a mentor. The new building gives the organization an increased capacity that allows it to double its reach and give more children the tools they need for future success. The headquarters are accessible and visible to its mentor and mentee client base and create a welcoming environment for them to connect and build relationships. The 21,000 square foot home includes program delivery areas, event space, and offices for volunteer mentor interviews to foster connectivity, functionality, and productivity, all essential to fulfill their mission. This additional space increases opportunities for community support and collaboration to sustain the work of BBBS.
