Description of QALICB
Goodwill of North Central Texas operates 27 locations in Fort Worth and the surrounding areas. Goodwill’s mission to “to enhance the dignity and quality of life of individuals by strengthening communities, eliminating barriers to opportunity and helping people in need reach their full potential through learning and the power of work”, aligns greatly with the goals of the NMTC program and Pacesetter CDEs continued dedication to investing in underserved communities.
Community Benefits
Goodwill of North Central Texas used the NMTCs to purchase and remodel over 30,000 square feet of space to expand and centralize their administrative offices. This project allows Goodwill to use their prior headquarters for more programming, and the newly purchased and renovated space includes a career center and additional classroom space for other community events and job training programs. Due to this investment, Goodwill created an additional 56 full-time jobs and increased capacity to serve an additional 35,000 individuals across all their locations and expanded programs such as Goodwill Education Initiatives, to help Low-Income Persons in the Fort Worth area earn high school diplomas, as well as assist them with job readiness, placement services and digital skills training.
